The Patriot Way – New England Patriots News 6/13

Welcome to The Patriot Way – New England Patriots News and links from around the web

- The Patriots last OTA was held yesterday, and was open to reporters.  Mike Reiss has a breakdown on what he saw at practice.  Good to see Vince Wilfork progressing along.

- Also good to see offensive tackle Sebastian Vollmer back on the field and talking to reporters.

- New Patriot linebacker James Anderson spoke to reporters.  Anderson could be a great add for the Patriots, able to play well in coverage freeing up others to be more aggressive in the pass rush.  Maybe someone like Donta’ Hightower?  The number of versatile and moving parts added to the defense has me cautiously optimistic that the defense can be an actual source of strength rather than a burden in 2014.

- After visiting with the Patriots, former Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams signed with the Seahwaks.  I though Williams could have been a great rotational player in New England, but can’t fault a player for going to the defending champions.

- NFL.com debates what we can expect this year from Rob Gronkowski.  A healthy Gronkowski goes a long way to making the Patriots offense more versatile, and II might even go so far as to say the Patriots cannot win a Super Bowl without the big tight end healthy enough for the playoffs.  There just aren’t enough explosive players who can create mismatches without Gronk on the field.
