The Patriot Way – New England Patriots News 6/9

Welcome to The Patriot Way – New England Patriots News and links from around the web

– Mike Reiss breaks down the next couple weeks for the Patriots from an OTA perspective.  Before we know it, training camp will be upon us.

– Dominique Easley is just what the Patriots needed, write Doug Farrar. If Easley can remain healthy he has the chance to be a special player, providing an interior pass rush that could help round out the defense.  Easley also allows for the Patriots to move between different schemes and fronts with limited or no substitutions required.

– The Patriots have begun negotiations with safety Devin McCourty on a contract extension. Assuming the money is right, this is a fantastic move and one that needs to happen now, freeing up cap space in the short term, and establishing some stability in the secondary in the long term.

– Jimmy Garoppolo seems to be adjusting to the NFL and the Patriots locker room quite well.  I still don’t want to see him play anytime soon.

– Tight end Rob Gronkowski shaved his head for charity.  Always good to see players doing stuff like this, and more specifically its good to see Gronkowski in the news for something other than his usual partying ways.

– Still, I wouldn’t expect anything different.
