The 2014 NFL draft is over, but that doesn’t mean the time for adding new prospects is done. The New England Patriots have already signed five undrafted free agents, something that is expected when Bill Belichick is the head coach.

Bowling Green tight end Tyler Beck, Oklahoma running back Roy Finch, Michigan State defensive lineman Micajah Reynolds, Iowa linebacker James Morris, and Delaware cornerback Travis Hawkins are the five players that they have signed.

The Patriots needed a tight end, but I don’t think we were expecting them to target this area of need with undrafted free agents. Beck may be a solid young player, but I was hoping the Pats would plug in some recognizable talent over the last few days. They also were in need of some linebacker depth, so James Morris may be the guy to help them in that area.

C’mon get me A.C. Leonard and/or Gator Huskins at least!!

Brandon Coleman from Rutgers or take a shot at Lyerla from Oregon!

I think Dustin Keller is the best option for the Pats at this point.

        • Mattia Rizzo

So you think they checked him, he’s fine and they completely forgot about drafting a TE?

          • Cyrus Geller

I don’t think they necessarily forgot about it, they must have just felt that it wasn’t worth it at that particular spot in the draft.

      • Mattia Rizzo

The more I read about Lyerla the more I think he will screw up… About Coleman, the Pats are in prime position to know what he can do, so they have a reason not to do anything (I still have to figure out the plan behind this draft though… ).

        • Amar S.

After the AFC championship, giving up so much interior pressure, maybe thats why Pats found such a need to address so much offensive line depth. I like all three picks at C, G and T, just the durability issues of the C and G we drafted were a problem on the draft reports Reiss quoted on ESPN.

Dustin Keller is starting to rub off on me as a good signing.

          • Cyrus Geller

It wasn’t a popular draft for the Pats, but it was a smart one.

Coleman is gone, and I never wanted Lyerla. Especially after his Newtown comments.
