After addressing the need of defensive tackle in the first round last night by selecting Dominique Easley out of Florida, the Pats come into round two in a perfect position to make some noise.

They still have a few big needs, with tight end, and defensive end at the top of the list. We hope they will address throughout the next couple of rounds.

The second round has been a roller coaster ride for the Patriots as of late, as they have had selected some really good players (Rob Gronkowski, Jamie Collins, Shane Vereen, Sebastian Vollmer), and some really bad players (Tavon Wilson, Ras-I Dowling, Jermaine Cunningham, Darius Butler).

New England goes with a surprise, as they draft quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo with their 62nd pick. Now that Garoppolo is on board, I think it is a guarantee that Ryan Mallett is traded to the Texans tonight.

Personally, I would much rather have seen New England go with a pass rusher, or a receiving threat of some sort. But Garoppolo is a talented guy, and he is in a perfect situation as he gets to learn behind the great Tom Brady.
