NFL draft expert Mike Mayock released his first, and only mock draft yesterday, and he had tight end Jace Amaro going to the Patriots (YES!!!!!).

I have been campaigning for the Pats to take Amaro all offseason, and it feels good to have one of the top experts in the country agreeing with me. Here is what Mayock had to say on the pick:

If the Pats stay put, Amaro makes a ton of sense. At his size he’s a glorified wide receiver who can split wide or play in the slot, and gives Brady another young weapon.

Rob Gronkowski is coming off of knee surgery, and there is pretty much nobody behind him that is reliable receiving threat. New England’s offense is at its best when tight ends are dominating the middle of the field, and Amaro brings that talent to the table. He knows how to take advantage of mismatches, and the combination of him and Gronkowski would be absolutely deadly.

It’s finally draft day, only a few hours until we find out if Mayock, and so many other mock drafts are correct.

I think BB will trade back…but if he does select the 29th pick overall, it would make sense to draft a player that will make an immediate impact and the Pats need a top TE opposite Gronk…Jace Amaro would be a great pick.
