Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to Pats news and analysis from around the web.
ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss continues his ’10 Perfect Patriots’ feature with quarterback Tom Savage out of Pittsburgh. As Reiss notes, Savage probably would have to be selected in the second round, and I just don’t think it would be worth it for New England. The Pats have a lot of other needs, and while replacing Ryan Mallett should be a priority down the road, wasting an early pick on a signal caller is a bad idea.
Running back Shane Vereen says Tom Brady is timeless, and Vince Wilfork is the scariest Patriot. Hard to argue with Vereen about this. I wouldn’t want to cross paths with an angry Wilfork.
Richard Hill over at Pats Pulpit explains why the Pats linebackers are the heart of Bill Belichick’s defense. If healthy, the Pats trio of starting linebackers should be one of the best groups in the entire league. Jerod Mayo, Dont’a Hightower, and Jamie Collins all bring unique traits to the table, and when you put them together, you get a great base to your defensive unit.
