This is a great move for the Pats, as it secures Solder for the next two seasons. Protecting Tom Brady is the number one thing the Patriots have to do every Sunday, and it all starts with the left tackle. Yes, Solder had a few slip-ups in 2013, but there isn’t a left tackle in the world that can play a perfect season. There aren’t many guys in this league that can pass protect as well as Solder can, and he continues to prove why he is one of the best draft picks Bill Belichick has ever made.
