Welcome to The Patriot Way – New England Patriots News and links from around the web

- The NFL schedule is set to be released tonight, but before it is, Mike Reiss takes a look at the best opening game possibilities for the Patriots.  You can safely rule out Denver and probably Indianapolis as those games will be saved for more prime time viewing later in the season.  Just a random guess but I will go with at Kansas City.

- NFL.com takes a look at the 14 most enticing matchups of the 2014-2015 season.  No surprise that a few Patriots games show up on the list, just not the games that you might think.

- Tom Brady is taking part in the offseason program at Gillette this year, in fact everyone is.  Always good to see Brady in town with the team, but especially when the offense needs so much work to gain consistency.

- Special team ace and team captain Matthew Slater says that the Patriots are the perfect fit for his career.  Slater is a better version of Larry Izzo, who went to multiple pro-bowls with the Patriots, and is a leader in the locker room.  Can never have enough guys like Slater.

- Former Patriots linebacker Brandon Spikes is still running his mouth up in Buffalo, even taking a shot at the fans.  Spikes will undoubtedly aid in the recently poor rush defense of the Bills but he remains a liability in coverage.   He does realize that if the Patriots spread Buffalo out, he won’t be on the field much right?  Does he think he can cover Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, or worse yet Shane Vereen?
