According to Albert Breer, the New England Patriots met with wide receiver Jarvis Landry this afternoon.

This follows Breer’s report of Landry’s former quarterback, Zach Mettenberger, meeting with the Pats as well.

New England did re-sign Julian Edelman, as well as add Brandon LaFell this offseason, but I don’t think selecting another receiver would be a bad thing for the team. As we saw last year, injuries can eventually deplete your receiving corps, and we don’t want to see 2013′s offense materialize once again next year. Landry is projected to be a middle round pick, and depending on how the Patriots utilize their first couple of picks, I see no reason why they can’t select Landry later in the draft.

Landry amassed 137 receptions, 1,809 yards, and 15 touchdowns in his three year career at LSU.

I would draft Kevin Norwood, he’s underrated thoguh he is a man at 25 years old and has played in a great program in Alabama. He’s rated as a mid round selection, even 5th by someone, I would take him in the 4th and give Brady a smart but unspectacular player to throw the ball to. Landry is a really good player but from tape and scouting reports it seems to me as another slot receiver, would be the 4th or 5th counting even LaFell for the Pats.

Landry is money. Trust me, I know football and I see a tremendous talent in Landry. If you don’t believe me, go look at his highlights on Youtube.

Landry will not slide to middle rounds. Landry will be taken not later than the late 2nd round. Landry is a football player and a damned good WR. He is “money”. You need a “money” receiver to win. He will take a lot of pressure of a #1 receiver. Trust me, Bilicheck is liking his chops in regard to Landry because Billicheck knows a football player when he sees one. I see New England taking Jarvis in the 2nd because Jarvis will not be there in the 3rd.
