According to Albert Breer, the New England Patriots met with wide receiver Jarvis Landry this afternoon.

This follows Breer’s report of Landry’s former quarterback, Zach Mettenberger, meeting with the Pats as well.

New England did re-sign Julian Edelman, as well as add Brandon LaFell this offseason, but I don’t think selecting another receiver would be a bad thing for the team. As we saw last year, injuries can eventually deplete your receiving corps, and we don’t want to see 2013’s offense materialize once again next year. Landry is projected to be a middle round pick, and depending on how the Patriots utilize their first couple of picks, I see no reason why they can’t select Landry later in the draft.

Landry amassed 137 receptions, 1,809 yards, and 15 touchdowns in his three year career at LSU.
