According to Gil Brandt of NFL.com, defensive tackle Stephon Tuitt is set to workout for the Patriots on Thursday.

New England could use a guy like Tuitt inserted into their defensive rotation, specifically with his awesome size. Tuitt is a versatile player, which is always a plus for Bill Belichick.
Rob Ninkovich and Chandler Jones are firmly entrenched as the starters on the edge, but there is not much depth behind them. They played 95% of the defensive snaps in 2013, which would hinder just about anyone’s ability to play the game of football.
I don’t think Tuitt would instantly solve New England’s pass rushing problems, but he certainly could help. If Tuitt were placed on the edge, Chandler Jones could slide inside, where he has shown that he can give the opposing offense problems.
Tuitt amassed 126 tackles, and 21.5 sacks in his three year career at Notre Dame.
