Round 1, Pick 29: Ra’Shede Hageman (DL, Minnesota)

The first pick I feel doesn’t have much flexibility to it. Unless Eric Ebron magically lands in the Patriots laps, then they will be taking a defensive lineman, preferably someone who can provide some interior pressure on third downs. Ra’Shede Hageman is that kind of player. Standing at nearly 6’6, and 310 pounds, he’s a monstrous man in the middle of the defensive line, but brings incredible burst and explosive power with that huge frame. He’s got obviously long arms to go along with that huge body, and will hopefully be able to knock down a couple passes, while he’s forcing quarterbacks to move around a bit. A freak athlete, Hageman could be a great compliment to Vince Wilfork, and could be a nice one-two punch with Tommy Kelly rushing on third downs.

Other Options: DL Stephon Tuitt, OLB Ryan Shazier, DL Kony Ealy
