According to Gil Brandt of, the Patriots recently worked out wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin.

While it would be nice for Tom Brady to have a guy with that kind of size on the outside, I don’t think they should address the wide receiver position that early in the draft. Benjamin is expected to be a first round pick, and there are other areas New England must address on day one of the draft. Defensive tackle, tight end, offensive line, linebacker, and defensive end are all much more important needs for the Pats.

I do like Benjamin as a prospect though. He has the size, and he has the athleticism. With the proper development, he could turn himself into a fine receiver in this league.

Benjamin racked up 54 receptions, 1,011 yards, and 15 touchdowns in 2013. Even more impressive was his 18.7 yards per catch average.
