Today it was announced that the New York Jets had released quarterback Mark Sanchez, and signed Michael Vick to replace him.

I don’t think this affects the Patriots too much, because I believe the Jets still have faith in Geno Smith. Smith didn’t have a good rookie season, but he also had zero weapons to throw to. We will see if he can improve in his second year in the league.

However knowing how Jets fans act, they will be clamoring for Vick to take over the starting duties as soon as Smith throws an interception. This would also help New England, because if there is one thing Vick consistently does, it is turn the football over, which is something the Pats thrive off of.

Vick got a one year, $5 million deal.
