Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to Patriots news and analysis from around the web.
Mike Reiss answers questions from Pats fans in his weekly mailbag on ESPN Boston.
The Patriots were connected earlier this week to a rumor suggesting that they were interested in trading for wide receiver DeSean Jackson. NESN’s Doug Kyed says that isn’t likely. I personally think that it is ridiculous to even think about trading for Jackson, mainly because of how much money he would have to be paid.
New England’s only move yesterday was signing long snapper Charley Hughlett. This gives competition to current long snapper Danny Aiken. Aiken has been good for the Pats, save for a horrible snap to punter Ryan Allen against the Colts in the 2013 postseason.
And finally, once again Mike Reiss comes through for us, as he has a breakdown of Julian Edelman’s contract. This was a solid deal for both sides, and hopefully Edelman will give New England another productive season in 2014.
