Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source to Patriots news and analysis from around the web.
In case you haven’t heard, the Patriots signed cornerback Brandon Browner to a three year, $17 million deal yesterday.
Over at ESPN Boston, Mike Reiss has his initial reaction to the signing of Browner here. Reiss nails it with his second point, saying that New England is adjusting with the times. Instead of signing guys that are “small”, and “quick”, Bill Belichick and company finally decided to go after a big, physical player, that can intimidate an opposing offense. I’m excited to see what Browner can do.
Staying with Mike Reiss, he wrote an interesting piece regarding Vince Wilfork, and the “legacy vs. principle” debate.
The always entertaining Nick Underhill of masslive.com updates us on the Pats cap situation. If you don’t include the Revis signing, or the Browner signing, New England has roughly $16.9 million of cap space. That is also not including the release of Wilfork, which is expected soon.
