According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Denver Broncos are expected to sign wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders.
Neither team nor player’s agent will confirm, but Broncos are expected to sign former Steelers WR Emmauel Sanders, per league sources.

It didn’t seem likely at this point, but Sanders was a guy who many thought the Patriots would target this offseason. His speed and versatility was extremely appealing, especially if Julian Edelman had walked. I really liked the thought of Sanders in a Pats uniform, mainly because he had the ability to take the top off of a defense, something that has been missing in Foxboro for a long time.
I don’t know who has “won” free agency thus far, but the Broncos are sure making a push at taking the title from New England. Denver has gotten T.J. Ward, DeMarcus Ware, Aqib Talib, and Emmanuel Sanders, while the Pats signed Darrelle Revis, Brandon Browner, and Julian Edelman. Before this report, I thought the Patriots had done better in this first week of free agency. Their secondary is now one of the best in the league, and they got Tom Brady’s top target back. But after this report, Denver may have taken back the lead for the top spot.
