As it turns out, Brandon Spikes won’t be traveling very far in his departure from New England. As Chris Trapasso first reported, Spikes has signed a one year, $3.23 million contract with the Bills.

The deal was later confirmed by Adam Schefter.

I think this is perfect for both sides, in particular Spikes, who gets to work with former Patriots assistant coach Pepper Johnson. Spikes is a great run stopper, and the Bills will benefit from his enthusiasm, and energy for the game.

With that said, he is awful in pass defense, which may come back to hurt Buffalo down the road. But I think this was a good signing, and I wish Spikes the best of luck going forward.
