NFL Free Agency: Steve Smith Signs With The Ravens, What Does This Mean For Julian Edelman?

According to Adam Schefter, Steve Smith has agreed to a three year deal with the Baltimore Ravens.

The Patriots made a run at Smith, and they even had him scheduled for a visitBut ultimately, he decided to sign with Baltimore.

Now that the Ravens have their receiver, they are probably out of the running for Julian Edelman. This leaves three suitors for the former Kent State quarterback, Cleveland, San Francisco, and New England. The Pats are in desperate need of some wide receiver help, and though he wouldn’t be my first option, Edelman would definitely help Tom Brady’s offense.

Unless Cleveland gives Edelman a ridiculous amount of money, I think he will end up with either the Pats, or the Niners. Both are Super Bowl contenders, and Edelman seems like the kind of guy that wants to win, in addition to getting payed.

Hopefully Edelman decides soon, so the Pats can get on with the rest of their free agency plans.
