Calm yet? Yeah, I don’t think anybody is.

The Patriots just signed star cornerback Darrelle Revis to a one year, $12 million contract, in what is easily the biggest move of this year’s free agency period (not to mention it brings the Pats that much closer to getting back to the talent level of the Broncos).

But wait, there’s more.

According to NFL.com’s Albert Breer, the Pats are open to extending Revis’ one year deal.

Having Revis for one year will be great, but locking him up for years to come will just be awesome. Having good cover corners is essential in today’s NFL, and there aren’t many guys that do it better than Revis. Hopefully Bill Belichick and company can extend Revis’ deal, to keep good pass defense in Foxboro for years to come.
