Brandon Spikes Tweets Out His Goodbye

Everybody has known that Brandon Spikes wouldn’t be back with New England for quite some time, but he has now made it official. Earlier today, Spikes sent out an interesting tweet, essentially saying goodbye to the Pats fan-base. Take a look:

I will definitely miss seeing Spikes on the field, but moving on was the right move for the Patriots. He was an excellent run stopper, but his incompetence in the passing game really hurt them over the years. He just doesn’t have the quickness or the athleticism to keep up with the running backs and tight ends in this league, which is one of the many reasons why he won’t be in Foxboro for the 2014 season (and beyond).

Spikes amassed 286 tackles, five forced fumbles, and one sack in his short four year career in New England.
