Could it happen? The question becomes more interesting by the day, as barring a trade, Darrelle Revis is now expected to be cut by this Wednesday.
Short of a trade in the next two days, the Buccaneers are expected to release CB Darrelle Revis by 4 p.m. Wednesday, per league sources.

The Bucs have been shopping Revis, but as of right now, it doesn’t look like there are any takers. Now we all turn to Bill Belichick, and what could go down as the biggest offseason move of his career.
Darrelle Revis is still one of, if not the best cornerback in all of football, and if the Pats aren’t able to retain Aqib Talib, going after Revis might not be a bad idea. He will demand a lot of money, but if the Patriots decide that his talent is worth it, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them make a move on him. Belichick has been known to do the unexpected, and this potential signing would definitely be filed under that category.
This situation will definitely be monitored closely over the next couple of days.
