Hello, and welcome to another edition of the ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source for Pats news and analysis from around the web.
ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss has a good article regarding Patriots president Jonathan Kraft, and if a coach would be worth a first round pick. Here is a nice quote from Kraft:
“In the context of football, an exceptional coach, at the end of the day, is probably more valuable to a team long-term than any individual player. If you are going to make that trade, you probably have more data on the coach than you ever could on that No. 1 draft pick. It worked out well for us. I would say, yes, certainly in football.”
Pats cornerback Alfonzo Dennard reported to a Nebraska jail yesterday, to serve out his 60 day term for a 2012 assault charge.
Bleacher Report’s Erik Frenz re-grades the Patriots’ 2011 draft class here. The only disagreement I have with the grades, is the ‘C’ given to Ryan Mallett. Yes, he hasn’t gotten much playing time, but I think if given the opportunity, he would play well. He has one of the strongest arms in the NFL, and learning behind Tom Brady for a couple of years probably has taught him a lot about the game of football.
And finally, Richard Hill of Pats Pulpit give his take on former Seahawk Red Bryant, and if the Patriots should go after the big defensive tackle.
