Hello, and welcome to another edition of ‘The Patriot Way’, your number one source for Patriots news and analysis from across the web.

The NFL Scouting Combine is in full swing, and Field Yates has his day two takeaways right here. Among his thoughts is the impressive bench press performance of tight end Joe Don Duncan, who may be a late round guy the Pats may go after.

Nick Underhill of masslive.com wrote an interesting piece detailing why the Patriots may target a quarterback in this year’s draft. This certainly is a plausible scenario, because as Underhill mentions, not matter how badly you want to ignore it, Tom Brady won’t be New England’s quarterback forever, and it would be wise to get a jump on acquiring his successor.

The Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe is reporting that the Patriots will be meeting with Aqib Talib at the combine, which is good news in terms of a potential contract negotiation. Talib is one of the best cover corners in the NFL, and his presence alone makes the Pats’ secondary an above average unit. When he is off the field, they go back to being a sub-par group, which was on full display in the AFC Championship game in Denver. I think that re-signing Talib should be New England’s number one priority this offseason.
