Coach Bill Belichick was at Pebble Beach this past week, playing in the AT&T National Pro-Am. He played rounds with both Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady, and based on his comments, the results he got weren’t what he wanted.
Here are Belichick’s comments, as reported by Kevin Patra of NFL.com.
“Yeah, I mean there is a lot more pressure here playing golf because it’s just you,” he said in an exclusive interview with the network. “I was talking to Tom and Peyton, actually, I played both of them this week, we were just commenting on how much easier it is to play football where we sort of know what we’re doing versus coming out here, where it’s just you, no teammates.”
This brief sabbatical from football is probably the longest Belichick is away from the game in the offseason, as his dedication to the game is well known throughout the league. Free agency is nearly upon us, and the preparations that have to be made for the draft go on all year long. I am sure that he enjoyed having some fun at the golf course with Peyton and Brady, but at the same time, there is work to be done to improve for 2014, and I know that Belichick wants to get right back to doing that right away.
