New England Patriots Practice Report: Aaron Dobson Only Absent Player

Wide receiver Aaron Dobson was the only missing player today for the New England Patriots, as they continue their preparations for Saturday’s divisional round matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. (Doug Kyed of NESN has a nice little picture of the injury report right here).

Dobson re-injured his foot in week 17 versus the Buffalo Bills, while running a deep go route. Dobson is the Patriots best deep threat, and he would really help the Pats offensive attack this Saturday as they take on the Colts. However missing back to back practices usually doesn’t point towards getting into the game on the weekend, so I would presume that New England is preparing to play without their rookie wideout. This opens the door for fellow rookie Kenbrell Thompkins, who also has been dealing with an injury, although it appears that he is now healthy. Thompkins isn’t nearly the vertical threat that Dobson is, but I know that Tom Brady will appreciate the bigger target, after throwing to Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola for the last couple of weeks.
