2014 NFL Mock Draft: The New England Patriots Select…

Nov 16, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; Texas Tech Red Raiders tight end Jace Amaro (22) scores a touchdown in the game against the Baylor Bears at AT

In this week’s version of the Fansided 2014 NFL Mock Draft, Josh Sanchez has the New England selecting tight end Jace Amaro at pick number 28, in the first round.

“We all know what happened with Aaron Hernandez this past offseason and the Patriots receiving corp could use a boost and consistency, so the Patriots can fill two voids with one pick by taking Amaro in the first-round.

Amaro is a guy that will create match up nightmares for opposing defenses and perfectly compliment Rob Gronkowski in the New England offense, so it is a pick that would make plenty of sense.”

The Patriots love their tight ends, and as it is mentioned in this piece, the combination of Amaro and Gronk could really wreak havoc for opposing defenses. Despite not having the talent of 2011 and 2012, the Pats always like to run their offense through the tight ends, even if they lack talented play-makers. However having a guy that can make an impact in the passing game definitely helps, and Amaro has proven that he can, as evidenced by his 1,240 yard, seven touchdown season, this year at Texas Tech.

Really? He could “wreck” havoc? I’m embarrassed at your spelling. If you don’t know a word, look it up.
