With the weekend finally upon us, and bye week Sunday causing the annual “watch RedZone or whatever game looks interesting” discussions, to ease the pain of bye week, here’s today’s whip round of recommended New England Patriots reading.
The Boston Herald has gone deep on position coaches, looking first at receivers coach Chad O’Shea, and the work he’s done with the staggeringly inexperienced wideout group, and also at Pepper Johnson, the linebacker coach helping to hold together the defence that can’t seem to stop getting hurt. There’s also a good piece on questions for the Pats during the bye – with ‘can they stay healthy’ being key.
Over at Patriots Draft they’re already looking at the offseason, in particular the future of cornerback Aqib Talib – a decision that could come down to whether his performance this season is setting a new standard, or a spike in production with his future on the line.
Looking to the future happens a fair bit on bye week, given the lack of a game to focus on, and at ESPN Boston things are no different, with Mike Reiss asks if the Pats can win it all this season, while at Rant Sports they muse on the long-term future of Tom Brady.
Then there are the mid-season awards. Our version can be found here, with Cyrus Geller looking at the team’s offensive MVP (the defensive side of things should be up soon, so keep an eye out). ESPN have also offered up their take on mid-season silverware.
Happy reading, enjoy the weekend.
