New England Patriots Injury Update: Kelly Out, Talib Questionable

The New England Patriots released the end of the week injury report today, and the biggest change that was made was downgrading the status of defensive tackle Tommy Kelly to ‘out’. Kelly hurt his knee back in week five, and he has not been active for New England since. Kelly’s absence has really hurt the Patriots ability to stop the run, and while it probably won’t hurt them this week (Pittsburgh run game is ranked 30th in the league), he will be needed in the coming weeks.

Aqib Talib is the other Patriot that has had major injury problems, as he has missed the last two weeks with a hip injury. Talib has been practicing with the team, and he is listed as ‘questionable’ for this week’s contest. I personally don’t think the Pats will play him this week, given the fact that next week is New England’s bye week, and by resting Talib on Sunday, it will ensure that he is as close to 100% as possible for the home stretch.

Out:

Tommy Kelly (knee)

Questionable:

Kyle Arrington (groin)

Aqib Talib (hip)

Leon Washington (ankle)

Probable:

Danny Amendola (groin)

Marcus Cannon (shoulder)

Brandon Bolden (knee)

Rob Gronkowski (back, forearm, hamstring)

Matthew Slater (wrist)

Julian Edelman (thigh)

Tom Brady (shoulder)
