Hello Patriots Junkies. I apologize for missing the Patriot Way post on 10/17. Life got in the way as my wife wrecked our Shelby Mustang. Thankfully everyone is fine.
The Patriots face the rival Jet’s in New York (sort of) on Sunday. The big news is the very likely return of Rob Gronkowski. HEAR FROM GRONK DIRECTLY. Enjoy the updates on the Gronk’s status in the stories below. Apparently he is doing well and ready to go. If his arm holds up, the Patriots will get a major boost to their offense, obviously, and fantasy fanatics around the world with rejoice.

I expect the Jet’s to put up a good fight, play very physical, and be in this game. The Patriots defense, which has been carrying the club, may get exposed on Sunday. The middle is going to be a lot softer without Mayo & Wilfork. Hightower is taking over the defensive calls, and its very likely there will be at least a couple mix ups on coverage that the Jets will have the opportunity to exploit. Aqib Talib practiced a bit Friday, but I suspect he will be out this week as the team definitely needs to think big picture and not bring him back too soon from a hip flexor injury.

So it will be up to the Patriots to out score the Jets this week, and Gronkowski’s return will make that a lot easier, even if he’s only on the field in the red zone. Love to hate them Jets. Can’t wait to see them lose another one. Rex is not afraid, but he probably should be.

Is your coffee hot?  It’s time to get caught up on The Patriot Way.

While Patriots coach Bill Belichick wouldn’t confirm Gronkowski would make his 2013 debut tomorrow against the Jets, the all-encompassing medical clearance has been the final hurdle for several weeks. Gronkowski officially was listed as questionable for the fifth consecutive week.

In the wake of losing defensive star Jerod Mayo for what may be the rest of the season, the New England Patriots will turn to other players to fill his gigantic role. Mayo is critical for the Patriots defense since he is the signal caller and easily the most athletic linebacker on the team.

Tom Brady Has New England Patriots No-Names On Top Of AFC East
New Your Daily News by Gary Myers
It’s just about Tom Brady and the no-names these days for the Patriots, which means if the Jets can’t beat New England now, maybe it won’t happen again until Brady retires. The Patriots have been wiped out by injuries, and there’s no sympathy, of course, for a team with big-time hurts, especially a team that has been to five Super Bowls since 2001.

Three Players Who Must Step Up
Yahoo Sports by Andrew Martin
Having started the season with a 5-1 record, they are in good shape for a run at a playoff spot. However, in order for that to happen, they must have players step up their game to help the ailing team.
