We are roughly an hour away from the Patriots and Saints kickoff, which of course means the Pats have released their official inactives list.

The only guys on this list that are a bit of a surprise, go by the names of Josh Boyce and Matthew Slater. Slater is still recovering from a fractured wrist, but I think it won’t be much longer before the Pats special teams ace returns. As for Boyce, this is the first game of the year where he will find himself in street clothes, as newcomer Austin Collie gets the nod in his place. Personally, I would rather have Brady work with the rookie to improve their connection rather than Collie. Boyce has a lot of potential, and I doubt that Collie will be in New England longer than the Patriots fourth round pick will be. But because Collie is active, I think Brady will attempt to incorporate him into their game-plan, especially if the New England offense begins to struggle like they did last week in Cincinnati.
