The Patriots injuries and rookies and struggles made for intriguing story lines as the team found ways to win each week on their way to a 4-0 record. It was particularly exciting and encouraging when they beat the Falcons on the road. The luster of that victory is not so bright after seeing the Jets hand a desperate Falcons team their second straight home defeat. After watching the Patriots lose to the Bengals 13-6 last week, the intrigue and cautious optimism suddenly turned into concern and doubt. They looked like one of the worst teams in the league offensively, and their once very tough run defense looked very pedestrian.
The Patriots signed DT Andre Neblett to add depth to a depleted line which has both starters out. Tommy Kelly injury is uncertain, and Wilfork is done for the year. Neblett is a veteran of a few seasons, but most recently was sitting on his couch after being let go by Tampa Bay earlier in the year.

Is your coffee hot?  It’s time to get caught up on The Patriot Way.
