New England Patriots: Wilfork, Mayo and Arrington Included in Injury Report

The New England Patriots are still coping with injuries, and this time, three key defensive players that joined the injury report list were Vince Wilfork (foot), Jerod Mayo (ankle) and Kyle Arrington (groin). No surprise here as Sebastian Vollmer, who suffered a foot strain last Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was also added to this week’s report and did not practice along with teammate Matthew Slater (wrist).

Limited Participation

DB Nate Ebner (ankle)

OL Will Svitek (knee)

RB Leon Washington (thigh)

CB Marquice Cole (hamstring) – had a short week out of the injury report and was once again added to the report.

LB Jerod Mayo (ankle) and RB Brandon Bolden – I really hope they’re just taking it easy after their amazing performance last Sunday. They will certainly need all the health and energy they can get for Sunday’s night football.

CB Kyle Arrington (groin) – the fact that he was sidelined in the third quarter during the Buccaneers game, gives me a bit of concern. Rookie Logan Ryan picked up the slack until the end of the game, but going to Atlanta this Sunday could be a tall order to ask from the rookie should Arrington miss any game-time. Hopefully is just getting some rest.

TE Rob Gronkowski (back/forearm) – besides looking great at meetings, Gronk looked “progressed” in Wednesday’s practice. It’s too early to tell whether Gronk will be playing this Sunday, and even if it wasn’t too early to tell, Bill Belichick would not let us know.

WR Danny Amendola (groin) – good to know Amendola is able to participate in limited practice, but I don’t expect to see Amendola playing this Sunday just yet.

TE Zach Sudfeld (hamstring)

DL Vince Wilfork (foot)

On the bright side, Dan Connolly (finger) was not listed on the injury report, so hopefully he’s doing much better and gearing up to take on the Atlanta Falcons.

We’ll keep our eyes open and ears tuned as RB Steven Jackson (hamstring), WR Roddy White (ankle) and OT Sam Baker (foot/knee) did not practice Wednesday.
