Danny Amendola could be out until Week 4?

New England Patriots star wide receiver Danny Amendola has been listed doubtful on this week’s injury report, and it is almost impossible to envision him playing tonight. Amendola is out barring any shocking developments, and it was reported earlier this week that it is possible for Amendola to miss more than just the game against the New York Jets.

ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss has made things even more interesting by writing that Danny Amendola could be out until Week 4 against the Atlanta Falcons. While this isn’t a report, it’s coming from Mike Reiss, so it’s definitely worth a lot.

Assuming that Reiss is correct, then that means Amendola will miss both the game against the Jets and the game against the Bucs, but at least he will be back in time for the huge game against the Falcons. The groin injury that Amendola aggravated looks serious enough, but it shouldn’t keep him out for three games. The Boston Herald reported earlier this week that the Patriots might not have Amendola for another game following Week 2, and it looks like this is a definite possibility. I would definitely keep my eyes peeled out for more updates, and this statement from Reiss is yet another reason why I would be incredibly surprised if Amendola plays tonight.
