The New England Patriots have announced five members of their eight-man practice squad, but it looks like Quentin Sims has been added as the Patriots sixth man on the practice squad. A source close to the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe (among a couple of other media reports), stated that Quentin Sims has agreed to sign with the Patriots practice squad.
Sims was a lock for the practice squad, as he had a quietly good training camp and exploded onto the scene in the fourth preseason game. With three receptions for 72 yards and two touchdowns on just four targets, Sims showed up big-time against the New York Giants and showed that he clearly had a spot penciled in for him on the practice squad. There was worry that Sims would go claimed by another team, but that never happened and Sims is back on the Pats and on the practice squad- right where he should be.
With the news of Sims’s addition to the practice squad, the Patriots now have six players on the p-squad in Sims, LB Ja’Gared Davis, SS Kanorris Davis, DT Marcus Forston, LB Jeff Tarpinian, and CB Justin Green.
Quentin Sims played for Georgia Tech and Tennessee-Martin in college, and he was first signed to the team before training camp shortly after the release of Donald Jones.
