Tom Brady back at practice

The New England Patriots are set to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers tomorrow in Week 2 of the preseason, and we’ll see if Tom Brady ends up suiting up to play tomorrow. We do know, though, that Brady is healthy and could play against the Bucs if the Patriots wanted him to, because he is back at practice today. I’ll come out and admit that I freaked out when I first heard the news of Brady’s injury and probably overreacted, but that’s because we had no updates and Brady is just that darn good/important. Brady is fine, though, and that’s evidenced by the fact that is back at practice just a day after sustaining the knee injury.

It should come as no surprise that Brady is back at practice, because he was expected to practice today and newer reports seemed to indicate that he wouldn’t be missing today’s session. Brady is determined to continue to take valuable reps with the rookie receivers, as it is indeed important for the rookie wideouts and Brady to continue to develop a rapport.

Per Zuri Berry of the Boston Globe, Brady is in a brace (he’s also in a red, no-contact jersey) after either sustaining a  bruised knee or a sprained knee- different reports have told different stories about the nature of the knee ailment.

Even though Brady’s injury was minor and he is fully healthy, I would still rather have him rest on Friday instead of playing against Tampa. The reps with the rooks in a game situation are important, but I’d rather rest up Brady in an exhibition game and also give the other QBs on the roster some more snaps instead.
