The latest development in this Alfonzo Dennard DUI saga has emerged. According to Omaha.com Dennard will be in court on July 31st to decide if he violated his probation that he received when he was found guilty of assaulting a police officer in February. Dennard is serving two years of probation in addition to 30 days of jail time that he will have to serve in March of 2014. Dennard will find himself in court again, on August 12th for the DUI case.
Dennard’s camp has said that Dennard did not fail the sobriety test that he took when he was pulled over in Lincoln, Nebraska. This whole situation got a little more dicey when it was reported that Dennard had not failed the sobriety test. It also got a little weird when it came out that one reason he was arrested, was because he did not blow hard enough while taking the Breathalyzer test. This was reported yesterday by NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport. We will have to wait and see as to what will unfold in the coming days, but for now, Dennard will be able to participate in Pats training camp which starts on July 26th.
Hopefully this all ends well for the Patriots and for Dennard. If he ends up not guilty of this DUI, I think this situation will be forgotten very quickly by both the Patriots, and the National Football League.
