You know how I said that the reports regarding New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez are coming out so fast that they are bound to be contradicted or potentially false at some point? Well, this morning’s report from CBS Boston stating that there is an arrest warrant out for Hernandez on an obstruction of justice charge has already been refuted. Now, the Boston Globe’s Wesley Lowery, who tweeted yesterday that an arrest was not imminent and that other reports were false, is reporting that no arrest warrants have been issued on Hernandez regarding the Odin Lloyd murder.
Now here’s where it gets interesting. Lowery backs up his source to a follower by stating that Aaron Hernandez would have been arrested by now had a warrant been issued for Hernandez. That’s true. Which means that the police might still be mulling over a warrant for Hernandez, but that they have indeed not put it out there yet. Lowery is taking a strong stance against other reports, but logic is certainly on his side right now.
As always, things can change on a whim, though, and Lowery’s tweet doesn’t rule out the fact that law enforcement will put out a warrant for Hernandez’s arrest later on. But, for now, Hernandez isn’t going to be arrested- reportedly not even for an obstruction of justice charge.
And, of course, different sources in law enforcement will say different things about the Hernandez case.
