The New England Patriots have been a bit busy as of late. They’ve been bringing in some guys on visits and even signed Lavelle Hawkins as we reported earlier. Some fans seem a bit confused on why the Patriots have yet to address more important needs other than Wide Receiver. It sure looks like the Patriots are looking into addressing their offensive line, which is never a bad thing to do. There are certain positions where it’s always necessary to have depth at that position and offensive line is one of those positions.
Here’s a tweet from Tom Curran of CSNNE.com about who the Patriots hosted earlier on today.
The Patriots had a pair of guards in on free agent visits today, Rex Hadnot and Antoine Caldwell. Former Dallas RB Felix Jones also was in.
Rex Hadnot is a Center who most recently played for the San Diego Chargers, he played in 16 games, but started in only three. If Hadnot is added to this team, he’ll be another veteran presence on the offensive line as he’s a 10 year veteran. He’s spent his time on multiple teams with the Cardinals, Dolphins, Browns, and Chargers.
The other member is Antoine Caldwell, who’s also a center most recently played with the Houston Texans. He played in only 11 games, but started in six. He’s spent his career with the Texans, so far.
It’ll be interesting to see if they decide to bring in some more guards or not.
