Lots of people over the past two seasons have tried to make the assumption that Bill Belichick would love to have Tim Tebow on his football team. Tim Tebow is back on the market, again and many believe the Patriots would give him a chance. It seemed like we’d always here this same stuff regarding Tebow, but Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports say’s it won’t ever happen. A big sigh of relief for some Patriots fans who literally can’t stand even hearing his name.
According to Michael Silver, Belichick “hates” Tebow as a player despite rumors regarding the Patriots having interest in signing him. When asked about the odds of New England, signing Tebow, Silver’s source shot it down immediately.
“No chance. Plus they wouldn’t like the circus that comes with it.”
This really isn’t a big deal what so ever since we already have Tom Brady and would have little to no use for Tebow. Even though, Belichick has been very complimentary of Tebow in the past.
If this report is true, this damages his shot at playing in the NFL again as many teams obviously share the same feeling. There aren’t many teams that would want a QB with this much attention, especially when Tebow is as raw as he is. Tebow has many flaws in his game and the media frenzy regarding him is a bit too much.
Tebow may be a great guy and a role model to young kids, but he’s not that great of QB just yet and the media’s obsession with him is just too much.
