It’s being reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, that Felix Jones is visiting the New England Patriots today.
I wouldn’t read too much into this as it just looks like they wanna see if he has any gas left in the tank. Besides, even if he impresses the coaches, who’s he going to beat out for a spot on the team? We’re very stacked at the running back position currently and he has little to no chance of making this team.
Hopefully he can get back on track and get a spot on a NFL team, but it’s not going to be in New England. Sounds like some teams are giving him the opportunity to show them that he still has what it takes and can be a valuable piece to any team that picks him up. He’s definitely got his work cut out for him and I’m not sure who he’ll land with. Another possibility for him may be ending back in Dallas, if they want him back.
In mainly a reserve role, Jones ran for 402 yards and three touchdowns on 111 touches. He also caught 22 passes for 262 yards and two scores and returned 11 kicks.
Jones’ best statistical season came in 2010, when he rushed for 800 yards on 185 attempts, though he only scored one touchdown. He also racked up 450 receiving yards that year.
