2013 NFL Draft: New England Patriots select Jaime Collins OLB

The New England Patriots waited until day 2 of the NFL draft to select a player. That Player is Jamie Collins an OLB. This position is not a need pick. The Patriots moved to a 43 last season and Collins will not start The pick was acquired in last nights trade with the Vikings. Collins is a 4th or 5th round pick at best. With Mayo, Hightower and Spikes on this team I don’t see the reason for this pick. Still think wide receiver is the biggest need. While the Pats still have 3 picks left on day 2 that position can still be filled. Wide out Allen out of Cal would of been my selection. Obviously Belichick knows more about football then I do. He coaches on Sundays, I watch football and drink beer.

The draft can not be judge in the first year so maybe this pick will turn into a stud.  I feel the Patriots could of used a wide out more.  Maybe at 59 that is filled.  Hopefully Collins can live up to his ten sacks in college.  If he does then yes this is a good pick.  First reaction to this pick is a waste.

In Bill we trust.
