2013 NFL Draft: New England Patriots Select Aaron Dobson

With the 59th pick in the 2013 NFL draft the New England Patriots have selected Aaron Dobson Wide Receiver Marshall University. The Patriots have had some bad luck drafting receivers in the past few season. They have however had some nice luck with Marshall wide receivers Randy Moss and Troy Brown. While Keenan Allen was still available Dobson does not have the injury concern that Allen does. He has good speed 4.55 in the 40. Best thing is his hands 92 targets no drops. From game tape I have watched on him he can run all the routes on the route tree. He can play outside the numbers and stretch the field. Youtube his highlights and look at how bad the QB play is for Marshall. With Brady throwing him the ball this could be special.

Reading his scouting report from NEPatriotsdraft.com we come away with a tall 6’3″ player. He has great body control. I highly recommend reading his scouting report on the site.

Dobson fills a need for the Pats. He will instantly be in the mix for playing time. If he can get on the same page as Brady the Patriots have themselves a very solid player.

The Pats have 2 more picks today in the 3rd round. I would expect a DB and then best player available. Maybe another receiver.
