The 2013 NFL Draft will soon become our main focus as free agency dies down, and it is time to take a look at more prospects who could be drafted by the New England Patriots this year.
Houston Cougars cornerback D.J. Hayden is one of the biggest sleepers in this draft, and it is time you start reading some scouting reports and looking up some stuff about this guy. Hayden has the total package at the position with great ball skills and speed that make him an ideal cover corner on an island. The biggest question with Hayden is his health, because he almost died due to a heart complication. If his health checks out, then Hayden could be one of the biggest steals of this draft.
According to Plex Performance, Hayden had forty times of 4.34 and 4.37 at Houston’s pro day, and that shows how fast he is. Seriously, keep the name “D.J. Hayden” engraved in your mind, because he is starting to get touted big time by some of the major scouts like Kevin Weidl.
Another potential sleeper in this draft is Marshall wide receiver (feel free to let your thoughts meander after that descriptor) Aaron Dobson, and I’ve had some Patriots fans tweet to me about how much they like Dobson. Gil Brandt lauded his performance at Marshall’s pro day after showing a great mix of strength, speed, and agility. The playmaking wideout had forty times of 4.42 and 4.44.
