The New England Patriots have once again listed a sizeable number of their players questionable, and Logan Mankins and Brandon Lloyd are two of them. Mankins was finally able to practice this week and is expected to be active against the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football.
The return of the star left guard is big for the Patriots, especially since the Texans have a very good pass rush and a talented front seven overall. Mankins will need to be at his best. He first appeared in the walkthrough on Wednesday and later practiced throughout the week, and reports on Wednesday circulated that both he and defensive end Chandler Jones would be ready for the game.
Lloyd is no danger of missing this game, but he is also a crucial player in this one. With Julian Edelman sidelined for the season with a broken foot, more targets will go to Lloyd. Texans cornerback Jonathan Joseph is certain that he will play on Monday, and he is only listed as probable on the injury report. This means Lloyd will have to break out and show that he can finally gain some separation against a good cornerback, with Joseph being one of the best in the game at that.
