Rob Gronkowski was the only player on the New England Patriots to miss practice today, and it looks like he will be the only player ruled out for Monday’s game against the Houston Texans. That’s great news considering how banged up the offensive and defensive lines were coming into last week’s game, in addition to the season-ending broken foot that Julian Edelman sustained.
Versatile OL Nick McDonald practiced again yesterday, and he is currently suffering from what is being listed as a shoulder injury. Logan Mankins and Chandler Jones have been involved in team functions ever since appearing in the walkthrough on Wednesday, and they will most likely be suiting up against Houston.
Both Jones and Mankins are important players for this team, with Jones’s presence being especially important. His work in run defense has been missed, and it will need to be at its best against Arian Fostser and company.
Dan Connolly left last week’s game with an apparent back injury in the first quarter, but he has resumed practicing. Let’s hope that Sebastian Vollmer is healthier than he has been over the past couple of weeks, because the Patriots definitely need their star right tackle at his best against the Texans.
The Patriots will have their final injury report out tomorrow.
