According to The Boston Herald, “everything points toward” wide receiver Julian Edelman being available for the New England Patriots in their AFC East showdown on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. He reportedly has his bags packed for the trip down south today, and he will be a critical part of the offense against a Dolphins pass defense that lacks depth in the secondary. Edelman has four touchdowns in the past two games, so he certainly has the hot hand heading into the matchup.
Edelman said (link above), “I’m feeling a day better than yesterday. But as far as what happened last game, that happened last game. Right now, I’m focusing on the Miami Dolphins and what we have to do to prepare to beat them.”
The New England Patriots have listed 15 players as questionable heading into this game, which isn’t beyond the usual given Bill Belichick’s injury report strategy. Edelman has a catch rate near 70%, so it is great to hear that he is feeling better.
I love how Edelman puts the injury behind him, because it just shows his toughness. I mean, the hit he took on New York Jets safety LaRon Landry was one of the biggest hits of the season, and Landry is one of the toughest hitters in the game. It ended up knocking the ball loose from Edelman, but you definitely have to credit his toughness for coming back from that concussion. He will have to pass another round of concussion tests, but it looks like Edelman will most likely be suiting up against Miami.
