The New England Patriots are set to play in their fourth straight rivalry matchup next weekend when they take on the Miami Dolphins; a team that just beat the Seattle Seahawks on a last-second field goal. Both rookie quarterbacks were sensational, but the difference in this game was the Dolphins ability to run the football against a tough Seahawks defense and their ability to shut down Marshawn Lynch. That’s no easy task either.
That impressive come-from-behind victory sets up this AFC East showdown next week, and both teams are the best in the division. The Pats have already played the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets twice, but they have yet to play the Dolphins.
Here is what Tom Brady said about the upcoming Dolphins game on Dennis and Callahan, “They won a big game yesterday against Seattle, a team we lost to. It’s a team we always have a tough time with down in Florida. They’re athletic. They can rush the quarterback. Cameron Wake is one of the best players we’ll play all season.”
Wake is an incredibly gifted pass rusher, and things didn’t fair out well for the Patriots the last time they faced a similarly good pass rusher this season in Von Miller. We’ll see if Sebastian Vollmer and Nate Solder can continue their strong seasons by holding down Wake and completing the near-impossible.
The Patriots absolutely dominated the Jets on Thanksgiving and Brady also gave his take on that one, “When we play well for 60 minutes, it can look pretty good. It just so happens the Jets were the opponent, and they made some mistakes in the game and we capitalized on them. … You shake your head and you’re like, ‘Wow, this isn’t what we planned on.’”
