The New England Patriots are in full pads today after the bye week, but offensive stars Aaron Hernandez and Brandon Bolden have not been spotted at practice. Hernandez was unable to make the trip to London after complications arose regarding his previously sprained ankle. Hernandez was able to play in Week 7 and 8. Meanwhile, Bolden has not played since re-injuring his knee in Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks.
Hernandez will likely be ready to play against the Buffalo Bills after receiving a full week of rest, and his son was just born so that is likely also a factor. I also doubt the Patriots want to rush him right back into a full-out practice on Tuesday, and it’s more important for an elite player like Hernandez to have rest.
The jury’s still out on when Brandon Bolden will return, because there is plenty of depth at the running back position. As with most injuries regarding players on the New England Patriots, we don’t know exactly how severe Bolden’s knee injury is. We’ll see if he misses yet another game.
A bit of great news coming out on the injury front, and that’s the return of Steve Gregory. The solid safety has definitely been missed at the back, and it’s great to see him finally back on the field and healthy. Kyle Arrington, who suffered an injury against the St. Louis Rams, is also practicing.
Trevor Scott and Tracy White did not practice.
