The New England Patriots received a high amount of praise from New York Jets star corner Antonio Cromartie, who called the Patriots “America’s Team”. Well, there is a poll up on ESPN’s AFC East blog that lets you choose between four teams, as well as a useless “other” option that is the equivalent of a write-in vote in real voting.
Anyway, the choices are the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots, and Green Bay Packers. Guess whose winning? The Pats are right now, holding a slender lead over the Pack. I always joke that the Steelers are “Tampa Bay’s team” because there are so many fake Steelers fans over there who couldn’t pick out John Stallworth or Jeff Hartings out of a line-up.
So guys, here’s the challenge. Go over there, and spam up the poll. Just keep voting “Pats”. I mean, how the heck is a team called the “Patriots” not America’s team? That’s what we were called when we fought for this country! (Well, of course, we didn’t actually fight…but you get the point; others of, likely, greater stature did.)
It’s funny though, because “other” is truly America’s team. Think about it. More people like those other 28 teams more than they do the four teams on the poll combined.
I love scrolling through the comments and reading the stuff from the “Patriots are cheaters!” trolls.
