Scouts from the New England Patriots will reportedly be in attendance to watch the Ohio State Buckeyes take on UAB, and there were also be Pats scouts watching Baylor take on Louisiana Monroe yesterday.
Ohio State has top defensive tackle Jonathan Hankins, who is ranked by NE Pats Draft as the tenth best prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft. John Simon is also a top Buckeye on the defensive line, and the senior is also in NE Pats Draft’s top 100 list.
Star linebacker Etienne Sabino an fellow linebacker Nathan Williams are other prospects to watch out for, and fullback Zach Boren is expected to be one of the top fullbacks available in the 2013 draft.
Baylor’s top prospect is wide receiver Terrance Williams, who is also in NE Pats Draft’s top 100. He had an impressive showing against Louisiana Monroe, as he caught four passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns- including an impressive touchdown near the end of the game to seal the deal for the Bears.
Williams has great speed to stretch the field vertically, but the problem is that he is an inconsistent pass-catcher who is very boom-or-bust. The knocks on him are a bit exaggerated, as Williams is likely the fifth best receiver prospect in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Which players on Ohio State impress you the most? What are your thoughts on Simon and Hankins?
